Fed Expected to Keep Raising Rates Until Inflation Cools

Tuesday, August 11, 2026

Kelsey Berro, Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at JPMorgan Asset Management, said the Federal Reserve is monitoring inflation data closely as core PCE inflation remains above 3 percent. Bloomberg reported the market is pricing in potential rate hikes based on incoming economic data including the Consumer Price Index, Producer Price Index, and employment reports scheduled in the coming weeks. Berro stated that a single data point will not determine the Fed's next move, and the central bank will consider the Jackson Hole symposium alongside other economic indicators before deciding on rates.
