Mamdani to Abandon Plan to Replace Elizabeth Street Garden With Housing

Developer Mahmoud Mamdani announced he would abandon plans to build housing on the Elizabeth Street Garden site in Manhattan's Nolita neighborhood. The garden has operated as a community space for over 30 years. Mamdani had pursued the development project for more than a decade before deciding to withdraw the proposal.
