Manus to return as independent company after China forced Meta to unwind $2 billion deal

Meta announced in December 2025 that it planned to acquire Manus for $2 billion as part of its artificial intelligence strategy. The deal was subsequently unwound following Chinese government intervention. Manus will operate as an independent company.
