Replacement GOP nominee named after Rep Chuck Edwards drops re-election bid

North Carolina state Rep. Jennifer Balkcom was named the Republican nominee for U.S. House in the state's 11th Congressional District. The nomination follows Rep. Chuck Edwards' decision to withdraw from his re-election campaign in that district. Balkcom will compete in the general election for the seat.
