The AI takeover of mathematics has begun

James Maynard, a mathematics professor at the University of Oxford and Fields Medal winner, said he has been reflecting on how artificial intelligence is affecting his field. Maynard told The Verge that mathematicians are adapting to AI tools in the discipline. The Fields Medal is awarded every four years to mathematicians under 40 for outstanding achievement.
