PM asks justice secretary to find way to keep PC Harper's killers in jail

Prime Minister Andy Burnham asked Justice Secretary Yvette Cooper to find a way to prevent two of PC Harper's killers from being released early under the prison release scheme, according to the BBC. PC Andrew Harper was killed in 2019 during an incident involving a stolen vehicle. Two individuals convicted in connection with his death are eligible for early release under standard sentencing rules.
