Florida AG James Uthmeier says Fauci probe could uncover grounds for criminal liability despite pardon

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said his office is examining fraud, deceptive trade practices, and public nuisance claims against Anthony Fauci. Uthmeier did not specify which actions or statements would form the basis of the investigation. Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, received a presidential pardon in January 2025.
