Iran Talks Offer Little Relief for Hormuz Shipping
Sunday, August 9, 2026
Iran and Oman are discussing a temporary shipping arrangement for the Strait of Hormuz, Bloomberg reported. Attacks on regional energy infrastructure and disagreements over transit rules are complicating the negotiations, according to Bloomberg News correspondents Skylar Woodhouse and Abeer Abu Omar. Shipowners and traders expect that even if an agreement is reached, it could take weeks or months for oil flows to return to normal levels.
