Sunday, August 9, 2026
South Korea's stock market experienced reduced volatility after leveraged trading positions were liquidated and regulators implemented trading restrictions on high-risk products. The Korea Composite Stock Price Index fell 8.8 percent on December 3, 2024, marking its largest single-day decline since March 2020, according to data from the Korea Exchange. Trading volumes in derivatives and margin-based instruments decreased significantly following the regulatory measures announced by South Korea's Financial Services Commission.
