Socialist Melat Kiros Immigrated to U.S. Thanks to 'Diversity Visa Lottery'

Melat Kiros' father legally immigrated to the United States through the Diversity Visa Lottery program when she was an infant. Kiros won the Democratic primary for Colorado's first congressional district on Tuesday, defeating 15-term incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette. The Diversity Visa Lottery is a federal immigration program that randomly selects applicants from countries with low immigration rates to the United States.
