DeepMind Says Its AI Can Predict Hurricanes Earlier Than Everyone Else

DeepMind's WeatherNext model can predict hurricane tracks and intensity using lower-resolution weather data than existing methods, according to the company. The model will be made open-source. Researchers have not yet determined the mechanism by which the model achieves these predictions.
