EasyJet agrees to £5.7bn takeover by US firm

EasyJet accepted a takeover offer from US private equity firm Apollo Global Management valued at 5.7 billion pounds, according to an announcement on January 20, 2026. The agreement came after rival bidder Wizz Air withdrew its offer for the low-cost airline. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and shareholder vote.
