SoftBank contributed $50 million to the Trump Presidential Library in January 2026. In June 2026, the company announced it was leasing federal land in Ohio to build a data center. The contribution and the federal lease were revealed in SoftBank's response to a letter from Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, and Rep. Melanie Felbey.
