Sony is killing discs — and showing us why it’s a terrible idea

Sony announced it will stop manufacturing physical PlayStation discs beginning in January 2028. After that date, new PS5 games will only be available through digital purchase. The company did not provide additional details about the scope or timeline of the transition.
