DHS Wants Protesters’ Signal Group Chats

The Department of Homeland Security is seeking access to encrypted Signal group chats belonging to plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the agency, according to filings in the case. The plaintiffs sued DHS alleging violations of their free-speech rights during protests. DHS requested the communications as part of discovery in the litigation.
