Why India’s New Closing Auction Is Confusing Traders: Q&A

India's National Stock Exchange and BSE introduced an auction on Monday to determine closing prices for more than 200 stocks with derivatives contracts, replacing the previous closing price methodology. The new system applies to stocks that have active derivatives trading. Both exchanges implemented the change simultaneously on their respective platforms. The auction mechanism is designed to establish closing prices based on order matching rather than the previous method.
