Texas Gov. Greg Abbott effectively pauses new data center projects pending statewide grid audit

Texas Governor Greg Abbott directed the state's grid operator to pause new data center interconnection requests while conducting a statewide grid audit. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is currently reviewing over 474 gigawatts of pending applications. Abbott's office stated the pause would remain in effect pending completion of the grid reliability review.
