Telegram CEO says an extortionist planted CSAM in a chat to get it pulled from the App Store

Pavel Durov, CEO of Telegram, stated that an extortionist planted child sexual abuse material in a public chat on the platform, leading to Apple's temporary removal of the app from its App Store on Monday night. Durov said in a post on X that "Apple removed Telegram from the App Store before contacting us." Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Durov's account of the removal.
