China is Tesla's cash cow, but for how much longer?

Tesla's Shanghai factory generated 1.29 million vehicles in 2024, accounting for roughly half of the company's global output. The facility has operated under a joint venture structure with Chinese state ownership. Tesla has not announced plans to divest from the Shanghai operation as of early 2026.
