The appointment was announced after McDonald's posted its slowest growth rate in over a year. Bloomberg reported that Yum! Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell, contacted Michigan health authorities in early July regarding a parasitic outbreak, several weeks before notifying consumers of the issue.
