Water cyberattack hits at least 7 states

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency issued a warning about exposed programmable logic controllers prior to coordinated cyberattacks on Minnesota water utilities. The attacks affected water systems in at least seven states. CISA had previously alerted organizations about the vulnerability weeks before the incidents occurred.
