Federal judge blocks New York law banning ICE agents from wearing masks
Tuesday, August 4, 2026
A federal judge issued a temporary block on New York's enforcement of a law that requires ICE and other federal agents to remove masks and display identification during operations. The ruling prevents the state from enforcing the measure while legal challenges proceed. The law had been signed by Governor Kathy Hochul in 2024 and was set to take effect in 2025.
