Writer arrested for allegedly beating wife calls Sophie Cunningham 'anti-trans, anti-black' in wild op-ed

Sports writer Howard Bryant was arrested and charged with domestic violence. Bryant published an op-ed in which he characterized ESPN columnist Sophie Cunningham as "anti-trans, anti-black" after Cunningham made public statements opposing biological males competing in girls' sports. Bryant compared Cunningham's position on the sports eligibility issue to Colin Kaepernick's political activism. The arrest occurred prior to the op-ed's publication.
