NYC Rent Freeze May Hit Mortgage Bonds

Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced a rent freeze on stabilized apartments in New York City, affecting properties that back a $506 million bond offering held by investors. Ran Eliasaf, Founder and Managing Partner of Northwind Group, stated the policy could reduce returns on these mortgage-backed securities.
