Two people in Michigan have died after becoming ill with cyclosporiasis

Two people in Michigan died from cyclosporiasis, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The deaths are the first reported fatalities connected to an outbreak that began in May. Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal illness caused by the parasite Cyclospora cayetanensis. The outbreak has affected multiple states across the United States.
