Automatic tip or service charge? New state law requires restaurants to tell diners before they order

A Florida law effective July 1 requires restaurants to disclose mandatory fees, service charges, and credit card surcharges to diners before they place their orders. The requirement applies to all food and beverage establishments in the state. Restaurants must provide this information through menus, websites, or direct notification at the point of ordering.
