Tech company founders and executives have increasingly used donor-advised funds, or DAFs, to manage charitable giving while receiving immediate tax deductions. DAFs allow donors to contribute assets, claim a tax deduction in the year of contribution, and direct grants to charities over time. The trend has accelerated as privately held companies including Anthropic and OpenAI have grown in valuation, according to reporting by Inside Wealth.
