FIFA released a statement denying that Gianni Infantino scheduled a call with Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State. The denial came as FIFA faced mounting pressure following the collapse of a Thrive Capital investment deal and criticism from UEFA leadership. Infantino has led FIFA since 2016.
