Glasgow hailed for saving Games as baton passes to Amdavad

Glasgow hosted the 2026 Commonwealth Games after the original host city withdrew from plans to stage the event. The Games proceeded with a reduced scope compared to previous editions. Amdavad, also known as Ahmedabad, was selected as the next Commonwealth Games host city.
