Runner on smashing Alps ultramarathon record by six days

Sophie Woods completed the Via Alpina ultramarathon route across eight countries in conditions that included storms, temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius, floods, and wildfires. Woods finished the course six days faster than the previous record. The Via Alpina route traverses the Alps across Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, and Monaco.
