Judge Allison Burroughs, appointed by President Barack Obama, issued a stay blocking the termination of Temporary Protected Status for Somalia on grounds that plaintiffs alleged Fifth Amendment due process and equal protection violations. The ruling prevents the administration from ending the TPS designation while legal challenges proceed. TPS allows nationals from designated countries to live and work in the United States temporarily.
