Google plans to exempt sanctioned nations from Android developer verification

Google announced it will exempt countries under U.S. sanctions from new Android developer verification requirements. The verification system, which requires developers to provide identity documentation, will not apply to users in sanctioned nations including Cuba and Iran. Developers outside sanctioned countries will be required to complete the verification process to distribute apps.
