Foreign robot ban targets China over security fears

The Federal Communications Commission added foreign-produced humanoid robots and connected power inverters to its Covered List on January 14, 2026, blocking new models from receiving U.S. authorization. The FCC stated the action addresses concerns related to supply chain security. Manufacturers of affected devices will be unable to obtain FCC certification for new imports or models entering the U.S. market.
