Christopher Warseth, chair of the Federal Reserve, faces pressure to address inflation as the central bank considers its policy options. Trimmed mean inflation measures, which exclude volatile food and energy prices, show inflation at levels not seen in several years. The trimmed mean Personal Consumption Expenditures inflation rate stood at 2.3 percent as of the most recent data, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. The headline inflation rate, which includes all items, remains higher than the trimmed mean measure.
