Liberal court stuns with ruling that hands Trump major immigration win

A federal appeals court panel reversed two lower court orders that had blocked the Trump administration's termination of Temporary Protected Status for nationals from South Sudan and Ethiopia. The First Circuit Court of Appeals made the ruling in 2026. The lower courts had previously halted the termination orders, and the appellate panel's decision allowed those terminations to proceed.
