Friday, July 31, 2026
Beth Hammack, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, and Neel Kashkari, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, dissented from the Federal Open Market Committee's decision to keep interest rates unchanged this week. Both officials cited supply shocks as factors contributing to current inflation levels. Hammack and Kashkari indicated that delaying action on inflation could require more aggressive policy measures in the future.
