US admits 'unfortunate error' after mislabelling countries on map of Africa

The U.S. State Department presented a map of Africa at an HIV conference that placed Ivory Coast in East Africa and depicted Nigeria as landlocked, according to reporting on the presentation. A State Department official acknowledged the errors occurred in the map used during the conference. Ivory Coast is located in West Africa and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean; Nigeria is in West Africa and borders the Atlantic Ocean.
