Sony pushes forward with ditching discs, despite backlash

Sony will discontinue physical game disc production for PlayStation, according to a statement by chief financial officer Lin Tao during the company's earnings call. Tao said Sony "put in a lot of thought and time" when considering feedback from users opposed to the change. The company has received objections from PlayStation customers since the announcement.
