Thursday, July 30, 2026
House Republicans, led by Rep. Bryan Steil of Wisconsin, requested classified briefings from the Department of Homeland Security regarding non-citizen voting and cyber vulnerabilities in voting systems. Steil chairs the House Administration Committee, which has jurisdiction over federal elections. The briefings were requested ahead of the November midterm elections. DHS did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the briefing status.
