For the First Time, Zoox Can Charge People for Rides in Its Steering-Wheel-Free Robotaxis

Amazon's Zoox subsidiary received a temporary exemption from federal safety standards that permits the company to operate a paid robotaxi service in Las Vegas without a steering wheel. The exemption was granted by federal regulators. Zoox vehicles are fully autonomous with no human controls. The service began operating in Las Vegas with passengers paying fares for rides.
