Chrome Needs Twice-a-Week Patching Thanks to AI Bug Hunting

Google increased its Chrome patching schedule to twice weekly after AI-assisted vulnerability discovery identified more bugs in June 2026 than had been found in the previous 23 updates combined. The company attributed the higher volume of discovered vulnerabilities to automated bug-hunting tools. Google did not specify whether the accelerated schedule would be permanent or temporary.
