Zoox clears final federal hurdle to launch paid robotaxi service

Amazon-owned Zoox received a temporary exemption from federal safety regulators that permits the company to charge customers for rides in its custom-built robotaxi. The exemption clears a regulatory requirement that previously restricted the deployment of the vehicles to unpaid testing. Zoox can now operate a paid service with its autonomous vehicles.
