U.S. economy slowed to 1.5% growth rate in Q2; June core inflation at 3.3%

The U.S. economy grew at an annualized rate of 1.5 percent in the second quarter of 2026, according to data released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, stood at 3.3 percent in June 2026, the Commerce Department reported. The second-quarter growth rate represented a decline from the first quarter's 2.1 percent annualized growth rate.
