Congress hasn't passed AI rules for schools. So these 98 teens did it themselves

About 100 teenagers convened to develop policy recommendations on artificial intelligence use in schools, addressing questions about whether students should be permitted to use AI on assignments and tests, and who should provide AI literacy instruction. The group drafted guidelines covering these areas. The teenagers' recommendations were completed in 2026. Congress has not passed federal legislation establishing AI rules for schools as of the article date.
