Japan Earthquake Insurance Claims May Exceed $1.1 Billion, BI Estimates

The Japan Earthquake Disaster Insurance Association estimated insurance claims from an earthquake this week could reach or exceed 175 billion yen, approximately $1.1 billion, based on the average of claims from six previous major tremors in the country.
