Lawyer Who Represented Trump Is Appointed U.S. Attorney in Manhattan

James M. McDonald, a former federal prosecutor, was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York by federal court judges. McDonald previously represented President Trump in an appeal of Trump's criminal conviction.
