Dish files for bankruptcy, but not shutting down

Dish Network filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on June 19, 2024, according to Reuters. The filing allows the EchoStar-owned company to continue operations while managing the wind-down of its wireless business following delays in the sale of 5G spectrum to AT&T, a transaction valued at $23 billion. The company operates Dish TV and Sling TV services.
