Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination when Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) asked him during testimony whether a red folder was in front of him. The exchange occurred during a hearing where Paul questioned Fauci about documents related to his tenure at NIAID. Fauci did not provide a direct answer to the question.
