Macklin Celebrini signed a five-year extension with the San Jose Sharks with an average annual value of $18.8 million, according to the team. This contract surpasses Leo Carlsson's recent agreement with the Anaheim Ducks in average annual value. Celebrini, selected first overall by the Sharks in the 2024 NHL Draft, is now the highest-paid player in the NHL by average annual salary.
