Gov. Larry Rhoden won a runoff election in South Dakota's Republican primary for governor, securing the party's nomination for a full term. Rhoden assumed office in 2025 after Kristi Noem departed to join the Trump administration. He defeated a large field of Republican candidates to advance to the general election.
